About Jay Carson:

Jay Carson is a screenwriter and producer. He is the creator and writer of the first Apple+ show, the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated The Morning Show, and was a supervising producer on the first Netflix show, the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated House of Cards. He is currently creating/writing multiple movies and TV shows including an hourlong drama which stars Judith Light and a feature starring and directed by Josh Brolin as well as a project with Hugh Jackman.

Jay’s first career was in government and politics. He started his political career on Senator Schumer’s first run for the US Senate in 1998. He went on to work on Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate race, and was the press secretary for the US Senate Majority Leader, Senator Tom Daschle. While he worked for Senator Daschle he was one of the approximately 20 people who contracted anthrax in the 2001 anthrax attacks on the Capitol. He served as President Bill Clinton’s Communications Director from 2005 to 2007, and he was then-Senator Hillary Clinton’s press secretary on her first presidential campaign. He was the Chief Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles under Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. For seven years, he ran a global climate change organization of megacities, The C40, for then-Mayor and C40 Chair, Michael Bloomberg. 

Jay is an avid surfer and outdoorsman, and is currently training to be an instructor at the Boulder Outdoor Survival School in Boulder, Utah. He was born and raised in Macon, Georgia where he attended public schools. He has a BA from Columbia University, and he currently lives in Topanga Canyon, CA with his wife, Carly, and their four children.
