Course Gear Lists & Orders
Many of the items on the gear lists (below) are available and can be preordered at our online store. These items are noted in the chart on your gear list under the column labeled "BOSS Store." Your preordered gear will be waiting for you in Boulder. Final payment will run after gear checks on your first day. Email store@boss-inc.com with any questions about your order or items on the gear list.
Online Store
- Select the "Pick Up" option upon checkout.

We organize preordered gear for pick up on your course start date at BOSS. Include your course information (start date, course code, type) in your gear order notes.
- E.g: 5/25, I-174, 7-Day Expedition
- If you wish to ship your gear before your course, additional charges may apply.
A confirmation email will be sent once the order is received.

The BOSS campus is located at the north end of Boulder, UT on Highway 12, specifically at mile 87.2.
The address is:

The entrance to the property is on the west side of the road and is marked by a rock wall and sign.
Driving Itinerary

Flying & Shuttle Itinerary
Shuttle service to and from the Holiday Inn & Suites Salt Lake City Airport West. ORDER YOUR SHUTTLE HERE ($300 round trip).

Additional Travel Details & Logistics
Shuttle Orders & Instructions
Taking the shuttle with us costs $300 round trip ($150 one-way).
- You can order your shuttle here via Enrollsy.
- Your student profile/account information should already be saved, so you can click through to the Group Selection step. You will notice the drop-down fields are already partially pre-filled (program is labeled "Extras"). Do not change these drop downs.
- Select your course's shuttle in Group Selection.
- Complete payment.
- Please disregard the steps on the landing page after you're confirmed (this is for students after they enroll in a course).
Travel & Insurance Activity
- Login to your Student Portal
- Click "Activities" under the top-right menu
- Complete the "Travel & Insurance" form based on your travel plans.
- Click "Post"
Travel Insurance
BOSS strongly recommends getting travel insurance for your course. There are many things out of your control that could cause you to miss your course (sickness, travel issues, family emergencies, etc.), and BOSS cannot not make exceptions for cancellations made due to personal and medical emergencies. Travel insurance will help ensure you don’t wind up paying for a course you can’t take. Divers Alert Network (DAN) or World Nomads are both good options.
Training for BOSS
A lot of our students want to know what they should do pre-course to prepare. If you’re in relatively good shape, training for your course isn’t strictly necessary. If you do want to train, consider that you’ll be walking with a pack at altitude and in heat. Our operating area isn’t flat so your training shouldn’t be either. If you run or bike, train on hills. If you train in a gym, use the stair machine in a gym instead of only a treadmill. Also – be careful when you train to avoid injuries. The last thing you want to do is to have your preparations sideline you for your course. We recommend stoping intensive training two weeks before our course.

We strongly recommend against trying to acclimatize to any potential for water stress. Trying to get your body used to being in a dehydrated state or over-hydrating before the course can lead to extremely dire situations both out of and in the field.
Student Portal
We use Enrollsy as our enrollment platform. Your Enrollsy Student Portal gets setup automatically when you enroll. On the portal, you can:
- See and update your account and billing Information
- See paid and unpaid invoices
- See and update your enrollment information, including health questions

Instructions:
- When you login to your student portal, you will see a red banner at the top of the page requiring an upload of the document above.
- Download and print the document.
- Complete the health form as accurately and legibly as possible. Bring this form with you to your physician.
- Have your physician read through your completed form and complete/sign-off on the physician's page - page 3.
- Combine all three pages into one PDF file. The portal will only allow one upload, do not upload one page at a time.
- Login to your student portal and upload your file via the red banner.
- For any updates to your health after you've submitted your form (injuries, new medications, etc.) contact admissions@boss-inc.com ASAP.
